The township thanks the Donnelsville Lions Club for their
generous donation of the park and its facilities to Bethel
Township in 2006, and the opportunities this has created for area
residents.

Hertzler House in George Rogers Clark Park
Bethel Township
Crystal Lakes Park  has a new
look
, thanks to prospective
Eagle Scout Drew Neel of Troop
180 in Huber Heights
.

Drew landscaped the park for
his Eagle Project, donating 150
hours of work by scouts, family,
and friends.  They hauled
topsoil, planted shrubs and
flowers, weeded, mulched and
cleaned the park.  All supplies
were provided by the township.
The cabin at Donnelsville Park has a new look,
thanks to prospective Eagle Scout Andy Hufford
of Troop 27 in New Carlisle.

Andy chose restoration of an exterior section of
the cabin as his Eagle Project, removing three
windows and boarding up two of them, replacing
deteriorated siding and insulation, enclosing an
unused exterior door, and doing fascia work.  He
and his helpers donated about 100 hours to the
project, with supplies provided by him and by the
township.

Prior to Andy's project one wall was open to the
elements and had "critters" nesting in it.  Now
that the building is secure the township can
proceed with plans to re-side the rest of it.
